Social media is not easy but it’s not as complicated as you think it is. If you’re a newbie in social media, these are the most basic things you need to know before launching your social media promotion campaign:
1.Create a plan.
Write in detail the things you want to accomplish. Take note of the main reasons why you are on social media. In creating a plan, consider the fact that it should be in line with your goals.
2.Produce valuable content.
Everyone’s hungry for brand exposure. But not everyone is willing to commit their time and effort in creating content that will be of value. If you want people to share your posts, make sure they are worth-sharing in the first place.
3.Be identifiable as a brand.
Consistency is very essential in promoting yourself as a brand. Make sure that people will easily identify you when they see your pictures or read your name.
4.Pick the appropriate channel.
You don’t have to be everywhere. Besides, that is time-consuming. Instead of giving all your efforts on all platforms, only select one or two then give your best on these platforms.
5.Prioritize the quality of your work.
It’s useless to post several times a day and not receiving any engagement for it.
6.Work on many kinds of content.
Experiment on the type of content. Visual content is on top of the list of most viewed posts. Do note that visual content are not limited to images and infographics. A short animated image is also considered visual content.
7.Create an engagement.
Before you try to sell something, work on the social aspect of marketing first. Take these platforms as a vehicle for you to reach out to your targeted audience not as potential buyers. When you connect to these people at a personal level, it’s easier for you to build relationships with them and be someone they can trust.
8.Don’t make it hard for them to reach out to you.
The old way of connecting to companies involve leaving an email, getting an automated response, then waiting for some time before you actually get a response. Well, that is if you are lucky enough. Now, this kind of approach no longer works. At a time when the world revolves faster, you have to make it easy for your customers to connect with you.
9.Accept negative feedbacks constructively.
In business and in life in general, you cannot please everybody. There are people who will not love you even if you’re doing everything you could to please them. Take that as a lesson to improve yourself. If you choose to respond, make sure you are doing it in a polite manner. On the other hand, if you commit a mistake and you receive a negative review about it, take that as an opportunity to make up for the mistake.
10.Get the metrics.
Check how your social media pages are doing. Are you getting likes, comments, and shares these past days? Measuring your results is an effective way to identify the aspects you need to work on.
